An Arati Plate is a tablet on which the utensils for execution of Arati lie.
The Arati is a ceremony in which one welcomes God or a venerable personality with respect and offering of auspicious objects.
During Arati are usually offered:
- an incense stick or other incense,
- a burning ghee lamp,
- Water,
- a piece of fabric represents what clothing,
- a flower ,
- a camara Wedel
- a fan of peacock feathers
These items will be moved in 3 or 7 circles clockwise around the deities and during that procedure a bell is rung with the left hand.
